Active Learning Resources

To encourage the children in your school to engage with the five health challenges during BNF Healthy Eating Week, BNF and Disney have created a range of fantastic ‘active learning’ resources. These have been developed to encourage children to have healthier, active lifestyles.

The resources are ideal to use with children aged 4 to 11 years.

The resources comprise:

  • a My Healthy Eating Week booklet – a booklet that children can personalise and use to track their progress through the five health challenges;
  • a tracker poster – a class participation poster, allowing everyone to get involved and be recognised;
  • a certificate – reward participation by presenting the children in your school who used the Active learning resources with their own certificate!
  • five activity sheets – one for each challenge that encourage active learning and working together.

The activity sheets are:

  • Have breakfast – children learn about breakfast through a memory game;
  • Have 5 A DAY –  children make a fortune teller and learn about fruit and vegetables;
  • Drink plenty – children play a water-based game to learn about the importance of drinking;
  • Get active – children get active with Buzz’s Space Race;
  • Try something new – children focus on trying something new with a Memory Montage!

All the resources can be easily printed and used during the Week or at any time of the year.

Why not let parents/carers have copies of the activities? They are fun to complete and encourage family learning and home-school links.

And there’s more …

For the chance to win £1,000 for your school, let us know how you used the Active learning resources.

The money is to support work in school based around cooking, healthy eating or physical activity.
